Can I get my brown hair dyed a temporary blonde?

I have thick light/medium brown hair to my chest and I know there are dyes that wash out after 8 weeks or something.

I'm planning on dying my hair in a few weeks (at a professional salon)

What shade of blonde could I get with just this type of wash-out dye?

Unfortunately, wash-out dyes can only temporarily darken the hair by coating it in colour. To lighten hair, you must use peroxide, ammonia, or some type of bleach to lift the colour, which can be very damaging. Also, once the hair colour has been lifted, it does not take to to colouring as well as it used to, so colour wash- or fade-out is very common.

Hope that helps!!

No, when you go from brown to blonde you are bleaching your hair. There is no temporary way to go lighter.

No, when you go lighter, you have to lift or remove color- talk to your stylist at length and let her know what your goals are for now, and down the road, going blonde can be very damaging- however, you can always go back to close to your natural hair color if you don't like it, but it will never be the same!

From what i understand, going blonde from brown, requires bleaching or a peroxide based product. It is permanent until you dye it darker or your roots start growing in.

You cannot temporarily go lighter because you'll need to bleach your hair and bleach is by its nature permanent
