Burgundy hair dye on medium brown hair?

I dyed my hair a dark burgundy and my hair is medim/dark brown naturally. My questions is will my hair look funky if it fades? or have too much of a purple or red tint? Or will the red/purple hues leave my hair and the dark brown will stay ?

What can i do to prevent color fading?

hey, my hair is also naturaly light brown, and I always dye it dark burgundy, and when it starts fading it looks dark as if the dark colors stay longer and the reds fade faster. I recomend that you dont wash it that often,but if you do try washing it with cold water I've noticed that it helps the color stay longer.

I did this same thing to my hair in 1993, I loved it, but, it faded to a reddish brown color after about 3 months, so buy another kit if you want to keep it really burgundy.

Mine was permanent.

You will just have to retouch you hair about every 5-6 wks with the burgundy color, but no it won't look funky as it fades, the brownish undertones wil just show through more clearly
