I want red streaks in my brown hair?

My hair is medium brown, a little bit past my shoulders. I want to get red streaks in it. I have never died my hair before. I want bright red streaks but will that look stupid? Should I get a more natural shade of red? My hair is really kind of dull so I'm excited about this. If you could, please try to provide pictures of red highlights/streaks in brown hair. Thanx

I have seen a lot of people do this before and i think it looks really cool, Lacey from So You Think You Can Dance had red streaks in here hair and it looked really cool. I would have a professional do it for you so they put it in places that accentuate your features. I hope this helps and if you could post a pic of you after you get it done I would love to see. DON'T DO IT. It ends up looking brassy and cheap. I'd suggest getting chestnut streaks instead if you want a brighter look.

Red is good but key things to remember:

1. Red's an awkward colour to get rid of if you change your mind!

2. It needs colour top-up's every 6-8 weeks! [鎷㈡嫝鎷

3. It's a bold colour so you might want to tone it down with subtle blonde highlights too!

I think you should go for it! I did mine that way last year!- It's all red now though! :) It looks great with any skin tone %26amp; really compliments blue %26amp; brown eyes-i don't know anyone with green eyes whose done it though!

dont do it. First, off, red is difficult color to dye your hair. Either it fades quickly, or won't come out at all, no matter how much you dye or bleach it, there will always be a brassy hue to it. Secondly, in order to get the red streaks in your hair, the sylist will bleach your hair where the streaks will go to a really light color, so that the red will show up more. Needless to say, it'll really damage your hair and you'll have to get a lot cut off to repair the damage.
