please go to a salon or a professional to do this u will end up either frying your hair or turning it green or some other weird colour. u may not get it back to the origional blond but they can get as close as possible. tell them what u want to have done and if they can't help keep trying until u find one that will.

She put highlights in it that took away the "darkness" of the overall look. I would have never thought it would look as good as it did, but she definitely knew what she was doing. Skip the washing your hair 100 times--go get some highlights and the contrast will look great!

Lots of shampooing will help, especially with dish detergent or Prell shampoo. I wouldn't try the lemon, I think that only lightens your natural color. Also, you might want to try a product like Colorfix if it really bothers you. It comes from beauty supplies stores and removes the dye (not back to natural though), then you can put a lighter color over it.

I am a hairstylist, the best home remedy to remove haircolor is HOT water and dish washing liquid. Hot water opens the cuticle and the dish washing liquid has a really strong detergent that it will strip artificial color. You can also mix up lemon juice and baking soda and leave it on your hair for a bit to remove some color. The bad thing is, that lifting color will leave your underlying pigment which for most dark colors is red or orange which will have to be corrected with a toner. Good Luck

If the hair color was permanent, and your hair is dry and porus, you may have a problem, before you call the salon try shampooing your hair with baking soda several times and wait a day or 2 sometimes the color will lighten on its own, dont try any over the counter so called color strippers, they will leave your hair dried out and may not strip the color out evenly, if your hair hasnt lightened any in a week or so you may want to call a salon that specializes in corrective color, it may be costly, but sometimes mistakes come at a very high price!!!! By the way, lemon juice will only dry your hair out.I also agree with N2Blondes go ahead and use dishwashing liquid with your baking soda, dont freak out and think that your are going to turn your hair red or orange, all that will do is remove some of the artificial haircolor that has been deposited, the dishliquid and baking soda will not lighten your natural hair color. DO NOT put anything else over the counter on top of what you have done if this does not start to lighten , get to your stylist have them correct the problem,the more you put on your hair the more damaging it is and the less they can do (depending on the extent of the damage) or the more they have to do, which in turn is going to cost your more.

We tried this at home a couple of times - it barley works. It does although make you hair sticky, stings your head and insects will be running at you.

So in short I would not recomend it.

Try using a product like sun-in. You simply spay it on (the more you spray the lighter it becomes) and sit in the sun for 10 - 20 minutes. Now this one works.

I'm mostly Greek. My natural hair color is very, very dark brown, almost indistinguishable from black.

I've dyed my hair many times before, but just once recently, a few months ago. I used Revlon dye, one of the lightest blonde dyes because anything darker won't have an impact on my dark hair. My hair turned a nice medium brown color I was happy with.

Now I have a couple inches of new dark growth. Last night I bought a Revlon 'Dark Ash Blonde' color, but I am unsure how to use it.

Do I? :

a) apply the dye to just the new growth/roots

b) apply to just the roots for most of the time, and then add the dye to the med. brown hair at the last few minutes.

or

c) apply the dye to the whole head evenly?

or

d) your advice?

I just don't want it to make my dark black roots turn brown and make my brown dyed hair turn light brown. I want one color on my whole head, obviously.

I rather not go to a salon, if that's your opinion.

When you lighten your hair you make it drier, just as when you darken your hair you moisturize it - so know that when you add this new color (lightener) your going to make the new growth lighter but also the old hair more brittle. You can rub it into all your hair and it will come out fine-looking - but the hair that's already been dyed with break off easier. I would suggest you do the whole head ( if you just rub it into the roots you risk that your old coloring has faded and your crown will be lighter than your ends).

I have seen a lot of people do this before and i think it looks really cool, Lacey from So You Think You Can Dance had red streaks in here hair and it looked really cool. I would have a professional do it for you so they put it in places that accentuate your features. I hope this helps and if you could post a pic of you after you get it done I would love to see. Aww Same with me i have dark brown hair so i wanted it dyed light brown but my crazy hairdresser turned it into a reddy/orange and its horrible now its started to grow out and its worse cos half of my head is dark and the rest is orange, i tried to dye it again but the colour keeps washing out and the orange is back again, I was thinking of getting it stripped but that damages your hair so badly, anyway go to a hairdresser and ask to get it permenantly dyed to your same hair colour as before, thats the only solution. good luck, i know how you feel:)

Go to the salon and have a profession who specializes in color correction do it for you.

If you want to try something at home go to the beauty supply store and find a brown color with a green base and buy 10 volume peroxide and dye your hair yourself. These are usually the ash colors however, you have to know the base because some ash color are violet base and this will do nothing for you.

The 10 volume peroxide makes the color semi-permanent so it will gradually fade away in 8-12 weeks.

If you don't want to dye your hair you'll have to wait for the color to grow out.

To cancel out the red in your hair you will need haircolor with a green base to it. Go to beauty supply store and get help from worker to help determine natural level of hair color(1-10) probably 5-7 if your a med brown. Get the same level number color with a green base to it apply only to red areas and watch carefully to see when red is cancelled out and wash immediately....if your ends are really dry and damaged color can grab so be ready to wash right away.You can also add 1oz of hair conditioner to the color to help condition the ends and keep color from grabbing too dark.

A caramel or honeyed blonde would look really good. But whichever shade that you choose, have the highlights "weaved" into your hair. Don't just take chunks of hair and put color on...that looks fake. Weaving highlights into the hair looks much more natural.

At least 2 tones lighter than your base tone (like the small splash of caramel color at chin level in your pic). With a third shade that is at least 3 tones lighter around your face - to frame and give the appearance of a nice glow to your face.

The stylist you go to should have a swatch book for the color line they use. You can hold the swatches up to your face and decide what tone goes well with your skin color. Remember that the swatches are an approximation of the final color, and your experienced stylist will be able to mix the colors to more closely match the swatch based on your hair.

Pictures in one of the other answers had highlights and low-lights in several tones, you will not get that effect with only 10 foils. In the second picture, I do not think the extreme difference in tones would look good, or be as "natural" as you are looking for.

Finally, have fun! If you don't like it, the highlights can be immediately covered with a demi-permanent color that matches your hair before you even leave the shop, so just think of it as an adventure... after all, nothing is permanent.

OK my advice is to go to and expert, salon or hairstylist.

To go from brown to red highlits you need to bleach your hair to a certain "perfect point" and then dye it red.

If you do it yourself even if you think you won't you might over bleach your hair and the follicles of your hair and the pigmentation of you hair might be so damaged by the bleach that you won't be able to dye it red after.

And no brown does not look stupid with the red...besides why would you damage your whole entire hair by dyeing it black instead of bleaching some hair starnds and dying them red afterwards?

Besides after you dye your hair black it's harder to come out from this color.

My best advice to go from a drastic brown to a red is to get it bleached and highlighted red by a professional.

Buy Feria 205 (extra bleach blonde) and lighten the sections you want red for an hour (it should be BLONDE!!! at this point). The next night, dye the blonde sections the red that you want (go to a Sally's and ask for a fire engine red hair permanent color). But you can test the color with a temporary spray on first before you invest in the bleach and the haircolor.

You should have waited to bleach your streaks after a week or two. And if you used a box color for the streaks, they do not use very strong bleach. I have fair skin and green/gold eyes and I like my hair dark. Try using black/brown if you want to go ebony instead of straight up black (which can look goth unless you like that look).

Go to Sally Beauty supply and get kalidacolor [not sure of the spelling] that way you won't have to bleach your streaks. There is no bleach in the product, you will have to get a powder to develop this, and it takes only 10 minutes! the sales persons there are usually very knowledgeable, and can assist you.

Don't go permanant though. I would suggest doing a demi-permanant color, and not really dark. There are color levels 1-10.

1 is very black (nobody has this color naturally) and 10 is very, very blonde.

I am naturally about a 7, but I darkened my hair to a 4. To acheive this, I put a level 5 dye on my hair, and it darkened it that much. Just be careful, because you can't go back easily, unless you go demi-permanant. Also with your skin, going too dark can wash you out. Be careful what you select, the swatches are done on WHITE HAIR...it will turn out darker on you.

My favorite demi-permanants are the paul mitchell pm shines. Check out those colors, and see if your nearby salon uses paul mitchell.

I would definately go darker with some reddish highlights. It sounds like the blue might be a little too much if you want to keep it a little less on the wild side.

Alternately, you could go to a bluish black. Feria has a color called Starry Night. You could always take a look at that box in the store before your appointment to see if you like the way it looks.

Or you can try looking through magazines and picking a hairstyle that you like from there. Most stylists LOVE it when you bring in a picture for them to work from. That way they know what you want and there's less chance of them getting it wrong. ;)

I would only get highlights ... and then do things like protein conditioners to bring up the sheen ..the less you do serious chemical treatment on your hair the better ... do not go blonde unless: you have "blonde skin" and unless you like fussing a lot ...you are better off with your own color ,, and the highliights need to be done in fine strands rather than big handfuls... so it looks sunkissed ... and even they need to be redone.

Also, get a good cut, preferably one that does not require setting and curling.

I wouldn't do blonde highlights on mousey hair, that was the first way I dyed my hair and I have the same hair type, and it didn't look great at all. What colour you dye should really depend on the thickness of your hair, the colour of your eyebrows and your skin tone so it doesn't look to unnatural. It would probably be better if you got it done professionally just because they will know what will look the most flattering for your hair type and skin tone

I do not think you should dye it! I had the same kind of hair when I was little. N ow I have diaganal bangs and I just straiten it, but don't straiten youre hair too much or it will burn. Going all blonde might be a bit extreme to start off with, I would put a few blonde/copper highlights in to see how you like it (this'll make your hair look thicker also). If you do like it you can go as far as you like. Highlights are not as high maintenance either.

Well i've had exactly the same problems and i have dark brown medium thick type hair, sometimes it would come out orange sometimes it would come out nice and blonde.....And recently i have started using the SCHWARZKOPF nordic blonde super highlighting kit and it is for medium blonde to medium brown hair....you can get it from quality save(home bargains) and wilkinsons(this is the cheapest store to get it from) its about 鎷?.00 at wilkinsons, 鎷?.00 at quality save and dearer in all other stores like boots, superdrug etc.. as you'd expect. Any how i really rely on this kit and i think its really good you can either do it the cap way or use the little brush to put fine highlights in...but i'd recommend you use the cap first and then put the extra highlights in if needed...And i personally think its really good... i have blonde on the top(about half of my head) and brown underneath....Hope everything goes well for you and if you decide not take my advice then maybe its best you go to the hair dressers and have it done there, even though it will cost a lot more than a streaking kit....Good Luck Any way x =D

At this point, I think you need to go to the hairdressers and get it fixed. Orange is not a good look...lol

Sometimes very dark hair just has too much pigment in it and it won't lighten up enough. But my guess it's the timing that's off.

right, the only way to lighten the hair is with bleach, a semi wont do a thing except darken. this is cos there is already a dark colour on it. the best thing to do is gently strip the colour with a bleach bath and then once light enough, colour over it in a shade thats the same as your natural colour. it is a colour correction and needs to be done at a salon, those home dyes arent true, as you already know!

if the condition of your hair is okay go for it but if its quite dry or split, you may need a good trim too.

I have just gone through almost exactly the same thing!!!! except it was with henna then I tried to dye it back to my dark blonde and it went a crazy colour with bright roots!!!.You can imagine!!... Stop colouring it yourself would help!! Go to a professional hairdresser who will strip the present colour from your hair, and then will dye it a colour that matches your natural hair colour, and all there is left for you to do is to leave it to grow out!! Make sure you and your hairdresser spend time making sure you get the right shade - that way you won't have the problem of roots showing. If it is too expensive for you to go to a hairdresser to have this done your only other option is to cut it short!!

Anytime you lighten your hair, you are actually "lifting" color out of it. Each individual hair has little "shafts" that open up when a product is put on it to lighten it...and this is how the color is taken out. It does damage to the hair and these "shafts" don't really close all the way so when you add a darker color each hair actually grabs the base of the color you are adding and that's why it is darker than what it is supposed to be. It will eventually fade like yours did. Sounds like your hair is damaged to an extent...so if you purchase a product that is the same color of your natural color, then it will turn out darker. You have different options, but the easiest and healthiest way to fix this problem is to put a semi-permanent..or even a demi-permanent color that is actually a shade lighter than your natural color on it. With the damage that happens when we lighten...these "semi" colors will act more like a permanent color and last longer on previously colored hair than they would on someone that has never had a chemical process done(virgin hair). I just told someone about a great product that you could also use..many companies make it..it is usually called "red blocker" or "red stopper"..something like that and you add some drops into the color before you apply it. It is a dark purple liquid..but don't let that scare you..it is very safe and helps keep the brassiness down...any beauty supply store should have it. Also, you might want to use a product that evens out the porosity of your hair...you put it on and it fills in all the "holes" in each hair shaft that have been caused from chemical processes...and this helps to ensure that the color that you put on your hair turns out the same color all over...so this might solve the problems with your roots. It's very simple to use and again it is sold at all beauty supply stores. Just remember to use it before you color..the directions vary by manufacturer, but they are generally on the packaging and are usually pretty simple and easy to understand. Also, when you use a semi perm. color..there is very little or no damage to your hair...the main thing is choosing a shade that will suit your needs..and I really do think that choosing one that is a shade or two lighter will work best. And it doesn't hurt to have your hair in the best shape possible before coloring by doing some really good conditioning for a few days prior. Just not the same day..this might block some of the color and keep it from "sticking" to your hair. Hope it turns out great and remember that no matter what..color can be corrected..just not always without further damage so be careful. This is making the assumption that you have not dyed your hair dark. If you have, then you will need to strip the haircolor. Dye cannot lighten hair dye, it can only lighten natural haircolor.

If we are talking about naturally dark hair, hon, your hair is not hard to dye. You have dark hair and should be picking up hair dye and developer (peroxide) according.

Kits in the store will NOT work for you. Why? The peroxide strength most commonly sold with kits is "20V". This is strong enough to lighten a few shades and cover gray hair. If you have dark hair, 20V is not enough for you. Go to a Sally Beauty Supply and ask for help. You will need at least 30V developer for whatever color choice you make. The mixing process is the same as using a kit and it's not very difficult at all. I recommend Loreal's HiColor haircolor line for dark hair. I've used that to go from black to hot pink in one shot WITHOUT bleach.

Sun In will have very little effect on your hair. Good luck :)

An effective permanent color stripper is ColorFix by Wella, sold at Sally Beauty Supply. It's about 11 bucks. Follow the directions, condtion afterwards and it's gentle enough to dye the same day. :)

Actually, going darker would be considered low lights. Depending on how light or dark you hair is, yes, they will show. They will not be very noticeable if your hair is dark, though you say here it isn't. If there is more than one level of difference it will be more obvious. Keep in mind, black will not fade or go away after a time. If you do it, with few exceptions, the low lights are pretty much there to stay until they are bleached out or cut out.

WOW, what a hair crisis. To be honest with you I don't know if you should dye your hair right away since you've dyed it twice within a short amount of time, you don't want to over process your hair. I would wait another 6-8 weeks, let your hair breath, and re-dye it a dark chestnut, or whichever shade of brown your trying to achieve. Keep in mind since your hair is dark grey now it may take more than 1-2 dye's to acheive your color.

You may try going to a local beauty supply store and looking for a dye removal kit. They make products that will strip all the color from your hair so that your natural color is all thats left underneath. Its pretty harsh on your hair, but if you keep redying it will fry your hair worse. Good luck!

Let's say for conversation sake that your sister has the gene BB. This makes her a dominant brown which means that if her husband was also a BB that their children would definitely have BROWN hair. But because their children have blonde hair she and her husband must have the gene Bb. The children had a 50/50 chance of which hair color they'd inherit. Just so happens they ended up with blonde.

Just because both parents have brown hair and so do their parents doesn't mean much as far as the children's hair is concerned. Your sister and him have traits that have been passed on through thousands of years of lineage and I guarantee somewhere down the line one of their ancestors had blonde hair.

I have dark brown hair and have discovered that if I use Blonde dye, it comes out a brassy auburn, auburn dyes come out dark, deep red dyes are beautiful as are blacks and blue-blacks. Be careful with some of the deeper purple reds, it could end up more purple than you might wish.

EDIT: I know natural instincts is a level 2 haircolor but trust me in your situation it's going to last at least as long as a level 3 and it will do less damage also.

It wont turn green as long as you wait the allowed time before dyeing it again. It will turn if you just dye'd it lets say a week ago and now your dyeing it again because the chemicals of the dye are still fresh and you will be mixing them which can also burn and/or fry your hair. So be cautious and remember to always wait the recommended time before dyeing again!

only ash over blonde or gold would turn green, your safe for that, but as for darkness? i would get just a shade lighter as you're perviously colored and your hair is porus, it will suck up the dye an probably take it a bit darker then planned. it will also probably be less ash then expected as its going over red. happy hair coloring!

So i don't think your hair will turn green, but it may still have reddish tones in it. Browns, beige and neutral tans. Gray's and charcoals look good with this eye color, as do violet and lavender. You can mix it up with a lavender and a violet.

Khaki and olive green are a great color combination. Browns with green highlights or copper highlights are always a fun option. Try copper and even gold. If your eyes have a tinge of green, or like mine are half green, choose green eye-shadows as well.

You'll find that even though you've heard that you should never wear an eyeshadow the same color as your eyes, that brown shadow can look very good with brown eyes and green shadow can look very good with green eyes. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the "right" shade. Brown eye shadows are all pretty safe, so you don't have to worry too much about those. Colors like purple, green and blue require a bit more testing.

Black is out, so don閳ユ獩 use it as an eyeshadow.

Keep trying until you find a color you like. You'll know when it's right- trust your instincts.

Colors To Avoid

Like I said, I hate to rule anything out, but makeup tips for brown eyes should include that certain pink and mauve eye shadows can cause you to look swollen or puffy around your eyes. It isn't true for all women or for all pinks, either. But if you're certain you don't want to risk it, avoid pinks. Mauves also fall into this category. It may be because women with brown eyes tend to have more yellow skintones making them warm complexioned and pinks and mauves are definitely cool colors. The blue in the pinks can react with the yellow of the skin producing an unattractive feature.

And while it isn't specifically makeup tips for brown eyes, you may want to avoid blue eyeshadow too. There's the misconception that blue eyeshadow is "out", but like I said, it really depends on who's wearing it. Playing it safe would include skipping this color.

Silvers are not a good color for brown eyes. They tend to cause a 閳ユ辅ashed out閳?look. Leave silver for blue eyes.

I had the same problem as you a little while ago. I'm 15 with brown eyes and hair too. I experimented with a bunch of different colors but i found that just dark or light chestnut colored eye shadow works really well. Also dark kind of navy blue and plums, and greens work too. What I do is I put dark chestnut shadow on the lid and some light cream colored shadow above it. It looks really good but isn't too drastic.

Try Clinique's Beach Plum. It's a duo of shimmery gold and a shimmery purple. They blend very well together and are not as boring as brown eyeshadow. These colors compliment brown eyes perfectly! If you appy gold to the inner rim and purple to the outer edges, it really makes your eyes pop.

I would definitely go have it done by a pro. You might want to consider getting it a shade or two darker, since your hair will most likely fade until the highlighted part grows out. Make sure your hairdresser uses toner as well, so there is no brassiness. I would look for a salon that specializes in color. The ones around here are called 'HCX' but I'm not sure if they are national or not. As far as natural dye that will not damage your hair, it's not likely. But dying darker is less damaging than going lighter since you are adding color, not taking it away. Also, ask the stylist about maintenance. Best wishes!

I would go to a hair stylist and have them do it. They would know what to do. Be careful about dieing your hair to much you can fry it. I did mine when I was a teen in school and boy did it look bad.

Sorry to let you know but you're kind of screwed. Once you bleach your hair out you can't get the same color brown on top of your bleached out hair. You're just going to have to match it up as much as possible, stop dying and highlighting your hair and grow your natural hair out, maybe you can go for a short cut for a while so it won't be so noticeable for so long. Tell your hair stylist to put a "filler" on your dyed hair that will absorb the brown hair dye better. If they just put brown hair dye on your bleached hair you won't get as good of a result. Unfortunately even with this, after a few months your hair washes out and the blond parts show up again. There is no easy answer to your problem. You either have to continuously have to keep dying your blond hair brown, including your brown roots or just grow your hair out after you die it back to brown the first time and deal with the bleached out places coming back again. Just let your hair grow out..you may have some two toned hair for a bit but just cut a few inches off every now and then.. Thats what i did...I had my hair lightened and i just let it grow out..and i cut a few inches off every couple months or so and now i am back to my natural color.

you shouldn't dye your hair.The natural hair dye is called by it's name because it has natural hair ingredients.That is called Henna...it turns your hair color into a red head...hair stylists are not good in doing hair colors.I wouldn't recommend going to them for hair....they say their pros but their not! You should try dying your hair at home and use a semi-permanent hair product so the dye doesn't damage your hair a lot! It doesn't contain peroxide...

You could either get your eyebrows lightened or if you're ok with it, dye your hair to match your eyebrows. I'm the same way, and I dyed my hair lighter. I have thin eyebrows (i pluck them) so it's not that noticable. You could try this but be careful because some people's eyebrows don't grow back once plucked.

maybe get them waxed thinner than yuo would normally...dont dye them, people who have light eyebrows want them darker...they make you look more sophisticated!!

I am the EXACT same as you. I ended up dying my hair a little darker to match ("match") my eyebrows. You don't have to go the same color, because otherwise you will look kindof off, but I dyed it because it's easier to deal with. You CAN dye your eyebrows, but I've done it and I can tell you it is a huge hassle. For one, you aren't really supposed to do it because it's so close to your eyes and you could go blind if you get the dye in your eyes. Secondly, you could risk your eyebrows falling out. SERIOUSLY. Thirdly, you'd have to dye them a little lighter for them to match your hair, and if you did that, when it grows out (and they WILL, faster than you think!) it looks SO dumb. You can also get like an eyebrow pencil and some eyebrow powder and use it on them so they appear lighter but you aren't doing anything chemically to them. All and all, I would either get used to it - lots of people have eyebrows that are naturally way off from their hair - or tint your hair a shade or two darker. Nothing dramatic, but then you "bridge the gap" a little. Nobody can tell I dye my hair because it goes with my eyebrows. It's your personal choice.

no, just pluck your eyebrows to make them thinner. it will look yoinks better.

if it doesn't, go to a salon and get them dyed professionally.

first go get ur eyebrows waxed than go to the store and buy urself this kind of hair color blonde than take the blonde hair color and put some on ur eyebrows it will make ur eyebrows look light brown just like ur hair color i promise it works it will make ur eyebrows look natural just like ur hair it really works

You should never dye your eyebrows, just have them trim nicely there is nothing better then a girl with nice looking trim eyebrows that would accent her eyes. :)
