I just got my hair done a week ago at a salon and at first, was mainly blonde and brown mixture. the girl told me to make my hair brown, she's have to put a mixture of warm med. brown with cool med. brown. she applied it to my hair and talked me into keeping some of the highlights. i really just wanted to get my natural haircolor. needless to say, my hair turned out brassy and reddish with highlights. i hated it, i told her i did, and she was very mean and unwilling to fix it. she told me there was nothing i could do about my hair becuase it was my hair's fault. so now i am stuck with ugly hair. i have tried clarifyign shampoo, hot oil and a brunnette shampoo. still, my hair is brassy and it's a week later. i want to know if i used a clairol medium ash brown, would my highlights turn green and would the brassiness be covered? please, experienced answers only!

1) talk to the OWNER of the salon. If that brat was the owner, do not go back! They should fix it for free.

2) Only go to a PRO that is a master colorist. There really is an art to it, and it doesn't have to be expensive.

3) Go to a place that sells beauty supplies (ours is Sally's beauty supply in NW PA) and they can sell you a shampoo to take out the brassiness.

it shouldnt turn orange, the only thing is red usually will show through. i dye my hair black but i have natural red highlights that always show through.

All that I know is RED and YELLOW make ORANGE! But if you use brown only it should tone all the colors down.

I don't think I have an answer but a warningbe very careful because my friend dyed her hair from blond to another colour her natural colour was grey but her hair went pink and she used domestic bleach to try and get the pink out so be very careful, ask expert advice and don;t use that hairdresser again.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING WITH "ASH" ~~~ IT WILL TURN YOUR RED TO GREEN.... Seek out a professional master colorist to fix this problem. DO NOT ATTEMPT to fix it yourself.....

I have always heard that dying blonde hair with any kind of "ash" coloring will turn the hair like a gray color. You might want to wait to color your hair again, coloring too often can cause severe damage to your hair. You could try putting a temporary "wash-out" on your hair to see if it would change the color the way you want. Then you could go with something a little more permanent.
